Property Tax Rates
Property tax rates are set by the governing bodies of Moore County and by each municipality.
Local rates (per $100 valuation) for 2007 are:
Moore County 44.5 cents.
Aberdeen 43 cents.
Cameron 56 cents.
Carthage 40 cents.
Foxfire Village 32 cents.
Pinebluff 40 cents.
Pinehurst 28 cents.
Robbins 66 cents.
Southern Pines 34 cents.
Taylortown 40 cents.
Vass 48 cents.
Whispering Pines 31 cents.
Most jurisdictions also have fire district taxes, which support the work of local fire departments. An Advanced Life Support (ALS) tax of three cents per $100 valuation also is applied to county taxes.
