FirstHealth of the Carolinas sponsors many community programs and support groups.

Support groups meet at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital unless ­otherwise indicated.

Persons interested in attending ­meetings of any support group are encouraged to call the contact person to confirm the meetings’ time and place. Meetings may be rescheduled and/or cancelled, especially during the summer months and holidays.

Bariatric Support Group meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital’s Monroe Auditorium.

Better Breathers meets on the third Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital Conference Center, Room B, or in the Outpatient Conference Room.

Breast Cancer Support Group meets on the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Moore Regional Hospital Conference Center, Room B. There are no meetings in July and August.

Breastfeeding Mothers Support Group meets the first Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the Women and Children’s Conference Room at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Cancer Support Group meets every Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Cancer Center Sunroom at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Caring Support Group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 11:30 a.m. at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care.

A Children’s Grief Support Group meets on a one-to-one basis or as a group when needed. Call (910) 715-6000 for more information.

CODA meets every Monday at 7 p.m. in the Conference Center, Room C at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis Support Group, for Pinehurst and surrounding areas, meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Conference Room C. Depression Support Group meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Outpatient Conference Room at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Diabetic Support Group meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Room NP2A. There are no meetings June through August.

Ended Beginnings — Counselors work on a one-to-one basis with family.

Fibromyalgia Support Group meets once a month on the second Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital Outpatient Conference Room in Pinehurst.  For information, call 947-3630.

FirstQuit Support Group (Moore County) meets every Tuesday at noon in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital’s Reading Room.

Lupus Support Group meets on the third Sunday at 4 p.m. in the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital Conference Center, Room C. There are no meetings June through August.

The Moore County Alliance for the Mentally Ill meets on the first Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital Conference Center, Room A.

The Moore County Chapter of the National Depression-Bipolar meets on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital Outpatient Center in the Doctor’s Conference Room, off Page Road. Contact the Education Department at (910) 715-5266 for details.

New Beginnings hosts three six-week sessions each year. For more information, call (910) 715-6000. The group meets at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care.

The Sandhills Ostomy Association ­sponsors an Ostomy Support Group, which meets the first Sunday of each month at 3 p.m. in Conference Room B of FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. ­Non-members are welcome to attend. Sandhills Parkinson’s Support Group meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital’s Conference Center, Room A. There is no meeting in December.

The Sandhills Post Polio Support Group meets on the first Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. in the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital Conference Center, Room A. Polio survivors, their caregivers and any others interested in polio or its late-term effects are welcome. For more information, call (910) 715-5266. Stroke Club meets on the second Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m. in the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital Conference Center, Room A.

The Zipper Club meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in Monroe Auditorium at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. There are no meetings June through August or in December.
